“Melissa, why are you such a weird person?” you may find yourself asking. Well other than wonky genetics, the answer is that I spent entirely too much time as a child watching strange movies and television shows. Many of these quality films were hosted by Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. I love that she is coming back and will be hosting 26 horror films on a new series called, “Elvira’s Movie Macabre” which will debut on September 25. In celebration, here is a short list of some of my favorite horror movie moments.
Zombies are undead humans that belong to the zombietus genus of the family Murderae. These are the most dominant ghoul species on earth. There are several species of zombies in the world. Most undead are carnivorous, but some are omnivorous. In general, there are two basic types of zombies. They are black or roof zombies and Norway or brown zombies. Both are thought to have originated in Asia and are now widely distributed throughout the world.
These two covers from Lissie are really wonderful. Plus I found them via David Lynch, which is pretty funny. If David Lynch says something is good, then we should listen. What are music are you loving right now?
Mary J. Blige launched her perfume today exclusively on HSN and word on the street is that it is is a smashing success. The perfume is made by Carol’s Daughter, who also make a couple of perfumes that I’d love to have: Almond Cookie Eau de Toilette and Pearls. Although, it seems that Pearls has been discontinued unfortunately. It is interesting that Carol’s Daughter and Mary J. Blige choose to launch this perfume on HSN. I wonder if many more perfumes will be launched this way in the future.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures released an image showing Godzilla’s new look at Comic-Con in San Diego. The film is slated to be released tentatively sometime (perhaps, who knows, maybe) in 2012. Not much more info is known other than that. I like this new look for Godzilla. He looks more like himself and more menacing than the trash unleashed upon Matthew Broderick in 1998. I like to forget that movie ever existed. You should too.
I found this image while reading the Caustic Cover Critic’s blog and nearly spit out my Diet Coke. I had no idea such a great series of novels existed in this world. Seriously? Giant Crabs attacking humanity? And they are forced to use tiny (to them) knives in order to take their human victims? Err, I suppose their giant claw hands are tired from all the killing.

My apologies for the lack of posts today. I lost track of time while reading the latest romance novel in the Sizzling Summer Book Club being held over at Smart Bitches, Trashy Books. This blog cracks me up on a daily basis so you should really go check it out. Especially if you like reading trashy novels as much as I do. I like when they have absurd plots involving planets inhabited by a race of extremely tall, good-looking men. This book doesn’t quite go that far out on a limb with its plot, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. A good time for all. TMZ (my least favorite “news” source, sorry) has just reported that Robert Shapiro has quit as Lindsay Lohan’s attorney. No word yet as to why. One of his conditions for representing Lindsay was that she complied with all court orders. I’m not sure if this had something to do with his leaving the case or not. Update: Images of Lindsay reporting to jail below.
When I was a kid, staying home sick from school meant watching soap operas and game shows all day. I’ve never really been an avid fan of soap operas. Unless you count that summer when I’d watch Passions before working the swing shift at Kinko’s. Hey, don’t judge me. There were zombies and witchcraft in that soap.
Mel Gibson is a complete psycho. I really had no idea. If you manage to listen to the whole thing give me a summary in the comments because his rantings scared me so much I had to shut it off. The gist of it is that he threatens to kill his girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, and says she deserved to be punched in the face.
