I don’t wear foundation. Blasphemous for a beauty blogger, I know. I’ve yet to find a foundation that really improved the look of my skin enough to warrant the claustrophobic feel I get when I wear it. Tinted moisturizer is a good compromise. It feels lighter, is less likely to melt off in the summer, and is more forgiving if… say, the person isn’t an expert at application.

Cleanse Your Soul Then Pour Some Sugar On It
Cleanse Your Soul is an indie company specializing in deliciously scented bath products. Their perfumes came highly recommended to me, since I have an uncontrollable sweet tooth when it comes to perfume. I had been looking for a few more perfumes to help give off the impression that I just had a horrible accident at the Hostess factory.
Review: Perfect Formula nail polish
If you’re going to call your brand Perfect Formula, you’re kind of setting the bar a little high. Don’t you think? I really like the idea of this polish. It is advertised as a “perfectly pigmented polish” with “Instant Strength Technology” and includes both keratin and calcium to strengthen the nail. And my nails could use a little strengthening, that is for damn sure.
Review: Senna Cosmetics
I think I may have mentioned this a few times before, but I am a sucker for cute packaging. I really like gold packaging of Senna cosmetics. I don’t feel bad about being a packaging slut when the actual makeup is outstanding too. And guys, this stuff is good.
Review: Everyday Minerals
Everyday Minerals is a company with decent makeup but has had at times horrible customer service. In general, if you order something it’ll arrive just fine and everything will be peachy keen. It is when there is an out of the ordinary situation that Everyday Minerals falls short.
Review: Alpha Hydrox Skincare
What do you do to take care of your skin? I’ve been wearing various anti-aging creams since I was 19 years old and unfortunately, I still managed to turn 32 this year. I guess those creams don’t really stop time after all. My skin looks decent for the most part but this year I started noticing more fine lines near my eyes. So I was pretty excited to try the Alpha Hydrox line.
Review: CARGO Essential Palette Bronze
CARGO‘s Essential Palettes for eyes include basic shadows labeled for use on the browbone, lid, crease, and outer corner of the eye. Even if you’re doing a more colorful look, these palettes contain many must have basics. CARGO has come out with a limited edition Bronze version of this palette which is a little flashier, has a little more sparkle, and is perfect for summer.
Review: 100% Pure Mascara
It is really nice sometimes to get away from all the harsh chemicals used in traditional makeup brands and use more natural alternatives. 100% Pure has a range of cosmetics that are all natural, using fruit pigments.
Review: Smell Bent Fragrances
I’m a bit of a nut. I find it hard to be serious most of the time. I appreciate when I come across others that are also just a little bit nutty. Brent Leonesio is one of those people. His line of indie perfumes, Smell Bent, has a fun, playful vibe. The name of each perfume is a pun and each one has a corresponding character. The cartoon characters are what first drew me to Smell Bent. They are hilarious! But do not let the cutesy image of Smell Bent fool you into thinking these scents are less than the highest quality. Every single one is surprisingly rich with a depth not often seen in such a reasonably priced line. Brent is a nut that knows his stuff.
Review: CARGO Swimmables Eyeliner
I really like the brand CARGO as they make some great blushes. I had never tried their eyeliners though. CARGO Swimmables waterproof pencil kit is a set of five eyeliners that are supposed to stay put even after swimming. Great for those of us that like to wear makeup to the beach (what? I want to look cute in my swimsuit) or for those unfortunate souls currently battling the heat and humidity.
